Can I file both Form 990-N and Form 990-EZ for the same tax year?
No, you can file only one version of Form 990 for each tax year.
If your nonprofit’s gross receipts are $50,000 or less, you're eligible to file Form 990-N (e-Postcard)—a simple form that meets the IRS’s minimum filing requirement. Although eligible for 990-N, you may choose to file Form 990-EZ instead to provide more detailed financial information. This can be useful for demonstrating your organization’s transparency and activity to funders and the public.
However, please note that the IRS accepts only one Form 990 return per tax year. Once you file one version, you cannot submit another for the same year.
