What is 8453-TE, and who needs to use this signature form?

Form 8453-TE is a federal tax signature form. If you are filing any of the following forms electronically, then you must submit this federal tax signature form: Form 990, Form 990-EZ, Form 990-PF, Form 990-T, Form 1120-POL,

Form 4720, Form 5227, Form 5330, Form 8038-CP, or Form 8868 with payment through an ISP and you’re not using an ERO.

If you are a CPA filing tax-exempt forms, you must attach the completed, signed, and dated signature Form 8453-TE to the form before transmitting it to the IRS. The IRS has updated this signature form as of Tax Year 2021.

Please note that when you finish your return, a correctly filled-out PDF file of your signed Form 8453 will be generated.
