Schedule B, the Schedule of Contributors is used to provide information on the contributions of over $5,000 or more than 2% of revenues from any one of the contributors. Organizations that need to report the contribution received for the year must file and attach Schedule B along with the Form 990 or Form 990-EZ.
Here is the list of organizations that must file Schedule B:
- Organizations described under Section 501(c)(3). Some common examples for section 501(c)(3) organizations are Religious Organizations, Scientific and Literary Organizations, Public Charities, Educational Organizations Safety department organizations, Organizations involved in the prevention of cruelty to children, women, or animals International amateur sports competition, and Amateur Athletic Organizations.
- Political organizations described under Section 527.
- Nonexempt charitable trusts under Section 4947(a)(1) that aren't treated as a private foundation.
- Any organization filing Form 990 and answers "Yes" in Part IV, Checklist of Required Schedules, line 2, must file and attach Schedule B along with Form 990.
While filing your Form 990 in Tax990 using the "Interview-Based" filing, the Schedule B will be automatically generated based on the filing requirement. The Schedule B will be made available to you depending upon the information you enter in your Form 990 using the "Form-Based" filing in Tax990.
