The Copy Return feature will copy certain information from your previously filed return and prefill it on your new return. This helps to simplify your filing and make the process more efficient.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for copying information from a prior year's 990-EZ return

  1. Log in to your Tax990 account.
  2. From the Dashboard, click Start New Return. Then, select Form 990-EZ, click Start New Return and choose Form-Based Filing Option
  3. Tax990 only allows certain information to be copied from your previous year's 990-EZ return. For example, if you want to copy Part III, Statement of Program Service Accomplishments, click on the Copy from prior year button.
  4. Select the information you want to copy from your prior-year return and click Copy.
  5. The information will be filled automatically in the corresponding fields. Follow the same steps to copy information for other parts of your previous return.
  6. Once you've copied all desired information, follow the subsequent steps to continue filing.
  7. Review the details, Pay, and click the "Transmit" button to transmit your return to the IRS.

You can copy information from the previous year's return only if it has been transmitted and accepted by the IRS.
